I am working with Josh Carroll an amazing artist. I will post a little teaser soon. but for now some animation i did forever ago

Sony Imageworks

So this summer I was lucky enough to get an internship at Sony Pictures Imageworks. It was an 8 week internship and it was awesome. I got to meet a lot of really cool people plus I got to animate all day for 8 weeks straight. Saweet!!!!! It was really awesome to see how the industry really works. I think the only down side was that I had to use Linux, which at first was really annoying, but once I got use to it , it was not so bad. Anyway here are some pictures. So I got to go to Siggraph and got to meet my two favorite animators Glen Keane and Eric Goldberg. ( I do not have a picture of Eric Goldberg.) Also in the common area there were vicious Ratbirds AHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Here is a clown that I have been modeling for forever. Maybe one day he will be done. I would draw him while waiting for playblasts And yes I know it looks like he is falling over and I do not care. Below are some studies from Sword in the Stone. I was really itching to do some Traditional animation and I still am wanting to. Here is an old lady character that I desgined while at Six Flags ( what an amazing theme Park) She as going to be traditionally animated but that never happened. So this was another thing that I would do while waiting for playbalsts... I would do frame by frame studies of animation clips. So here is one from beginning chase scene in Aladdin. One day we had an event after work and some of the story artists were drawing caricatures. So I had to get some. The first one is by Chris Pearn and the second one is by Cody Cameron. And here is my beat up Sony Badge. I do not know why it got so beat up.

11 Second Club animation December

This is kind of old but it is still worth posting this is my entry for the 11second club December competition. It was a lot of fun and it was nice to be able to animate with out the pressure of school. It will also be my last traditional animation for a while. I am actually hoping to incorporate traditional animation into my thesis, but we will see. I am really hoping to be able to compete again , but I got a lot going on so I will see how things play out. BTW I got 9Th with this animation. So that was very exciting.

Also the lip sync is a bit off and I'm sure the blogger video will make it even worse ( it always finds a way.)

It still amazes me that i put some cribbles on a paper and suddenly things come to life and create this whole new world just from some pencil marks

Hey I'm back, school has started up again, actually it has been going for a while. But anyways everything is all good here in the hood.

So here are some animations I have done so far at school

two walk cycles and a pantomime.

Like always there are still things that i want to tweak, but we must move on to Quadrupeds now.

I have not gotten around to posting all of my summer animation because I have not been able to shoot them yet . It has been way to crazy. soon though

Also I got 25th last month at 11 second club. I only went up one place but I went up almost an entire point.

Daily Character Design 1 and 2

So I have decided as a way to come up with new characters and a way to wind down my day each night I am going to do a little character sketch in photoshop ( most likely but we will see) So here are the first two days the first one is a monster with a lollipop and the second one is a scuba diver going gold fish hunting. As of now I am not trying to come up with cool paintings and give the characters cool poses, but as I progress I will start posing them. But I am just trying to have fun. Also maybe one of these characters will be come a future animation.

Here are some Characters hat I might use for next semester's TA2 class. I have some more but these are the only ones that are colored. These drawings are nothing fancy they are just fun little chillax drawings that I do and don't have to care about them.

This is actually a frame that I colored from my last 11 second club entry.

I also have a maquette of this guy (which ill post later once I get better pics)

This is actually a drawing I did for my dads fathers day card.but i doubt i will use any of these characters from the card. I just thought it was funny

I am pretty happy with the designs but i am just not really pumped about them so i am going to continue to crank out the characters

11 second club

So I entered the June competition for the 11 second club and I got 26Th out of 137 so that was pretty good and I got some nice feedback. I am going to post the animation even though it is really hard to see, but I will re post it once school starts again so you guys can see a higher quality. I will also be posting the other animations that I have been working on then. So come school time expect a huge animation post. I think I might go back and make some changes though

Also I did not recognize any Ringling kids names so we need to get some more Ringling kids competing. come on guys.

Ringling Museum

Here are some pics from the Ringling Museum. I went there with my girlfriend and they have a new display where you can draw a still life or draw your friend . So I drew Bryce. They also have a little spot for you to hang your artwork. So now my artwork is displayed at Ringling. Also there is a painting I started of Bryce .

So here are the two final pieces I did in my communication design class the project was satire and that was about the only limitations

My two pieces are Phelps and his gold bongs instead of his gold medals. The piece was my 1st oil rub and it was awsume. The other piece is about the Pope and how he said that condoms increase the spread of AIDS.this one was digital.

Flour Sack

Hey been a while but Ive got some good stuff . 1st off I have my flour sack animation which I think came out nice and was a ton of fun. It was a bit long though But it is all cool. Also I competed in the Feb. competition for 11 second club. I did not really finish it but You guys can take a look anyway. I was pretty excited about my placing. I got 64th out of 182 entrees which I think is pretty good for under two months of traditional animation. But either way it was a hoot. We are just about down with our character jumps ( just spending break slowly tweaking it) So I will post everything for that once I am done (character sheet and animation)

IN drawing we finally got to do some cool projects.

the first pic is of my drawing where we had to take a segment of a etching and make it into our own drawing by expanding from the cut out. It was so much fun ( finally)

Also I am completely sick of drawing in just characoal and pencil so I am so glad we got to use ink and ink wash

In 3-D we just finished up our toy project and I made my janitor character that I came up with last year.

It was alot of work and a lot of fum. I really want to sculpte some more, but now in 3D we are making metal vultures. Which has been extremely difficult.

Now I am finally modeling him in maya. so wish me luck

I got a new sketchbook a while ago , but it is awesome because it fits nicely in my pocket and I can still do some worth wild sketches . the book really comes in handy when I can't take one of my larger ones.So here are a few pages.

Plus it can handle watercolor, marker, and anything else really and it was two bucks.

Here is a photo of a painting I did for a lady just last week. She wanted an abstract piece and wanted it in 2 weeks. So I had to do it in acrylic which I do not like and it was abstract which I do not like. But I liked doing this painting it was to bad. I did learn a lot plus made some money. I recently got into scratch board and have done a few pieces. But at first I hated it with a firery passion , but after bieng forced to do it in my recent art class and I enjoyed it so much that I ended up doing two in the time that we were suppose to do one, but any way now my dad is doing his on daily trasnslation of the New testiment and I am doing scratch board illustrations for it.

I will upload the illustrations once I get better pictures of them and finish them.

This friday the 13th is an art show at D3 studios and it is hosted by Orange Press. It should be an awsum show so eveyone should go out and see all the great artwork, bands and people at D3.

Recently I got an award for one of art pieces and the award ceremony was in New York City and in carnagie Hall. The whole trip was a blast me, bryce and my mom had so much fun.New York is one crazy place.

I have been messing around with new styles of portrait drawing. I am trying to do more smudging and geting more contrast in my drawings. I have been trying to develop a style that is realistic and suggetive also.

I have finished my car modeling that I started awhile ago (well as much as I am going to ) . I thinkI should of started off with a little easier model, but who cares because I learned a butt load about modeling. So now I am starting to model one of my own characters that I created a while ago. Also I will be rendering and rigging this model so I can animate with it . SWEEET!

THe charater I created is a NErd a tall and lanky nerd. He is amazing.

Today Fox 10 came to my art class to interview me because I am pimp and I dominated the Scholastics art competition. I spent the whole day in art class waiting for them to come .

So I had my tablet and drew a picture of Damien some amazing photographer and he is going to Ringling next year.

I have some more animations but they aren't anything really new so I am not going to post them. But I will get some more animations that are cooler soon and I will post as soon as possible . i have been busy with something else.

The reason I dont have more or better animation is because I have been trying to finish my first model in MAya. It has been lots of fun , but a lot of work. I am still in the progress, but i decided to post my progress.

So I still have som attributes to add like the interior the rest of thje headlights and just little things. Have some geometery to fixed( adding edge loops because my geometery is not lining up) I am pretty happy with how it has turned out so far.

I am planning on modeling and rigging my own character soon I will post some character sheets soon

I got this book after I sent in my ringling portfolio, which feels nice to be done with, but now I have to wait till march to know if I got in.

In my new sketch book I have been trying to experment with new techniques. I am find some that I like. It was fun though I am going to try and post everyweek I have been slacking on posting but not on the art.

I thing I am getting the hang of it. Also I am not sure about the background I am think of changing it, but don't know what else to do. I accidentally drew it with a really low pixel count so it is kind of pixilated, but I will be aware of that for my next painting.
